Lucas Oil brings the Ken Smith Memorial Drag Boat Nationals to Lake Havasu’s Thompson Bay. Top drag boats can clear a 1,000 ft. course in just 3.3 seconds at over 260 mph. Lake Havasu provides some of the finest surfaces on the schedule, so spectators are in for one hell of a thrill. Attendees can watch from Lake Havasu City’s recently renovated 40 acre Rotary Park. This will be the second race in a nine race national series.
The event is bigger and better than last year, with an extended schedule to allow for coverage by Network TV. Food vendors, a beer garden and other activities and displays will be available for attendees all three days.
Single day tickets range from $5 to $20, with three day passes available for just $40. In the words of Todd Taylor, logistics and event planning manager for Lucas Oil. “The racers and crews are very excited to come back here, it’s a great community, and one of our favorite races.”
